Assisting community trusts
The REIPPP programme has led to the establishment of many new community trusts. These trust are tasked to operate and invest funds on behalf of communities over the next 20 years and possibly beyond. Trustees require administrative, financial and legal skills. These trusts also need to communicate and consult with local residents, develop a shared vision for its investments as well as allocate funding through a transparent and accepted process. Accountability, credibility and a reflective practice are crucial for the successful operation of a community trust.
