Associate & trustee

Peta has a degree in Sociology from the University of Essex and a Master in Social Administration and Social Work Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Since 1996 she has worked in the South African NGO sector in management and leadership positions and is a trustee of the Harold Wolpe Memorial Trust.

Peta joined Sustainable Energy Africa (SEA) in March 2008 as the Managing Director. SEA is an NGO working with cities across South Africa and Africa to integrate sustainable energy practices and approaches to urban development. She provides overall management and leadership to the organisation and has worked on a range of projects, including developing energy strategies, engaged in research on urban energy poverty and assisted the National Planning Commission in research and stakeholder engagement for the low carbon and energy chapters of the recently developed National Development Plan for the country.
